The Mystery of the “KANDAHAR Giant”: US Troops Killed the Afghan Monster

​This story was told by Steve Quayle in 2002 on a popular American paranormal radio station. According to Quayle this entire incident was immediately classified for a long time and hidden from the public by the efforts of the US government.

It all started when one day during a US military operation in Afghanistan a detachment of US soldiers failed to return from a mission. They tried to contact them by radio, but no one responded.

In response, a special forces task force was sent into the desert with the task of finding and recovering the missing squadron. It was assumed that the detachment could fall into a siege and the soldiers were killed or captured by the enemy.

Arriving in the area where the missing detachment had left the soldiers began to inspect the area and soon came across the entrance of a large cave. A few things were at the entrance to the cave, which upon closer examination revealed to be the weapons and equipment of the missing soldiers.

​The group was cautiously looking around the cave entrance when suddenly a gigantic person jumped higher than two ordinary people piled on top of each other.
 
Though the story grows with the narrative – with some accounts suggesting the humanoid grew up to 15 feet – this red-haired giant with six fingers, leather loafers, and smelling of “corpses”.

He screamed in rage and impaled one of the soldiers with a spear. The same retreated and started shooting at the giant with his 50 BMG Barrett rifles.

​Even with such massive firepower, the entire squad took 30 seconds of continuous bombardment from the giant to finally knock him to the ground.

“Among them the squadron was armed with M4 fully automatic carbines, reconnaissance carbines (semi-automatic) and M107 Barrett anti-material rifles firing 50 BMGs,” a report reads. “So much firepower concentrated on a target for one second, let alone thirty more, would be extremely destructive.”

After the giant was killed the troops searched the interior of the cave and found the bodies of the men from the missing squad, gnawed to the bone, as well as older human bones. The soldiers came to the conclusion that this man-eating giant had lived in this cave for a long time, devouring people who passed by.

​As for the giant's body, it weighed at least 500 kg and was then transported by plane to the local military base. The military loaded him onto a Chinook helicopter, which took him to a transport plane where no one saw him again.
 
Troops were forced to sign confidentiality agreements so the government could keep them silent.

But eventually the soldiers broke the silence because as one of the men would later say, “people have a right to know the truth”.
