There are few characters in horror as widely recognized as Dracula - the blood-sucking Transylvanian vampire who scholars believe may have been at least partially based on 15th-Century Wallachian prince Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad the Impaler. Published in 1897, Bram Stoker's iconic novel remains one of the best known works in English literature and has influenced countless books, movies, games and televisions shows. Its popularity was certainly on show for all to see at Whitby Abbey in North Yorkshire this week when a record-breaking 1,369 people dressed as the iconic vampire congregated en-masse to celebrate the novel's 125th anniversary. Fans from all over the world traveled to the UK to attend the event, which ultimately saw official recognition by the Guinness Book of World Records. "We've just broken the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Vampires with 1369 vampires!" English Heritage wrote on Twitter. "We'd like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has come along to Whitby Abbey to help make this happen - you all looked fang-tastic!" Source: https://www.bbc.com/

while searching the Lake titicaca using google earth I came upon a strange object that did not seem natural and did not fit the surrounding landscape. Source: Google earth In the simple, tiny church of St. Mary, Aldworth there lie the nine stone statues of what have become known as the “Aldworth Giants,” a name bestowed upon them because all are over 7 feet tall and are said to be life-sized representations of the de la Beche family members. After Duke William of Normany crossed the English Channel and took London, his supporters followed in search of lands and wealth. The de la Beche family was among them. They received numerous properties and built two castles, one of which was in Aldworth. Though the castle no longer stands, the church houses the last of the family’s descendants. St Mary Church in Aldworth (Wikimedia Commons) The de la Beche family was very influential in the first half of the 14th century, and many of the family members represented in the church were knights. Sir Robert, the eldest member of the family buried here, was knighted by King Edward I, and his grandson, Sir Philip was valet to Edward II, and was also sheriff of Berkshire and Wiltshire in 1314. He and his sons took part in a rebellion against King Edward II in 1322. The opposition was defeated, however, but as luck would have it they were captured and imprisoned for five years instead of being beheaded. In 1327, Edward III, who was now king, absolved them and restored their lands and positions to them. Sir Philip’s son, Lord Nicholas, went on to become an integral in the English empire under Edward III. He served as steward of the province of Gascony, Constable of the Tower, and custodian of Edward III’s first son until his death in 1346. While their lives were impressive, the de la Beche memorials prove to be even more so. They fill the small church, as if reminding onlookers of their greater than life accomplishments. The first family members first to be seen upon entering the church are Sir Robert de la Beche, his son Sir John, and John’s son Sir Phillip, who are under arched tracery along the north wall. Sir Phillip had six sons and a daughter: John, Philip, Nicholas, Edmond, Robert, Edward, and Joan. The nave of the church houses the effigy of Phillip’s first son, Sir John, along with Sir John’s wife, Isabella, and his younger brother, Lord Nicholas de la Beche. Lord Nicholas’s brother, Sir Philip, and their mother, Lady Joan, lie along the south aisle of the church, also under arched stone canopies. The last remaining effigy is of Lady Isabella’s son John, who died in 1840. It is at this time the effigies are believed to have been constructed, as this family line soon became extinct. Canopies inside St Mary's church holding effigies. There are nine in all belonging to the de la Beche family dating from 1278 to 1340. (Wikimedia Commons) Though the stone monuments can still be seen today, they were vandalized during the Cromwell regime and consequently are badly mutilated, missing limbs and other appendages. The most extreme damage was done to Lady Isabella and Young John, who are both missing their heads. One effigy has disappeared altogether, that of John Ever Afraid. So who, pray tell, is John Ever Afraid? Legend claims the magnificent stone memorials found in St. Mary’s Church actually belong to giants known as John Long, John Strong, John Never Afraid, and John Ever Afraid. This is speculated to be due to the immense size of the effigies. While little to nothing is said about the prior three, the legend of John Ever Afraid is quite famous. The tale claims that he sold his soul to the Devil for earthly riches. According to their bargain, the Devil could claim John’s soul upon death whether he was buried outside or inside of the church. Tricking the Devil, his body was buried within its walls, and his effigy was placed in an alcove on the outer wall of the church. Statue of Sir Nicholas De La Beche in Aldworth. Credit: Peter Reed / Flickr So what happened to John Ever Afraid? His body is said to have been buried under the wall where the arch appears on the outside. His mystery of his missing effigy may never be solved, though there are theories as to where it ended up. One such theory is that it was moved to Saint Lawrence Church Hungerford. A parade performed during the summertime Corn Exchange outdoor event throughout West Berkshire tells the tale of John Ever Afraid. Put on by the Irish outdoor theatre company, masked puppets take over the streets as an 18-foot giant puppet representing John Ever Afraid comes out of hiding. Confused from 600 years of sleep, he has to elude the Devil and his minions. It is a family-friendly event that celebrates the rich mystery surrounding this local legend. Watch also: ANCIENT GIANTS existed - Best Full Documentary Greetings, We Are From the future. Everything is going to be alright. Humanity is about to undergo an astonishing revolution. Many have called for this revolution, but few understand what it truly means. This coming revolution is part of a great progression towards an awakening of staggering proportions. Life force is the creative self-organizing intelligence orchestrating all of this behind the scenes. Life force is experienced by you as the feeling of Love - for Life and Love are the same. What humanity is about to become is quite inconceivable to you right now, But we are here to help make this transition a little easier. [YOU ARE NOT ALONE] Like gyroscopic force stabilizes a motorcycle - Life force [Love] stabilizes all living systems. Populations full of love, cultivate honesty, courage and generosity, self-organizing and self -regulating without the need for coercive control. Populations with deficits in love succumb to fear, violence and corruption, inviting coercive governments to combat the chaos and entropy that arises in the absence of love’s organizing intelligence. Just as Life force is experienced as love, entropy is experienced as ego, hatred and fear. The corrupt and power hungry feed on this fear. Without enough gyroscopic force to keep it upright a motorcycle falls, likewise without enough love to keep them upright free and idealistic governments fall. Populations too fearful, selfish and chaotic to stand on their own, invite despotic governments to forcefully rule and stabilize them like a kickstand for those who've lost their minds. As long as a population has more fear than love, what appears to be democracy is often little more than a spectacle to mesmerize the masses. Autocratic power still operates behind the scenes. Its media directs people’s unconscious fears and aggression towards invented enemies, insane competitiveness, rabid consumerism and addiction. THIS SYSTEM WILL SELF DESTRUCT. This system glorifies the ego, the embodiment of entropy, which convinces you that you are alone against the world, causing alienation, fear and aggression. The core values of your culture have been hijacked, forging a pathologically antisocial anti-ecological system obsessed with profit, power and control. THIS SYSTEM WILL SELF DESTRUCT. Real change must now come from outside this system. Real change must now come from you. Just as free and idealistic governments can’t survive the entropy of populations filled with fear Egoic coercive governments can’t survive the creative self-organizing power of people filled with love. Gandhi called this power soul force, life force, love force. It is the fundamental force behind all nonviolent revolution and the unassailable creative intelligence of Life. True freedom and equality requires a population alive with this self-organizing intelligence. The coming awakening happens in stages. And the next stage... is THE REVOLUTION OF LOVE. Love is the organizing force behind all that is beautiful, joyful and creative in this world. Power structures are merely the reflection of a population’s levels of love or fear. But true love casts out all fear making graceful revolution not only possible but inevitable. So the next stage... is THE REVOLUTION OF LOVE. When you unleash the sentient energies of love, then, for the second time in history the world, humanity will have discovered fire. The fires of love will spread through all people, thus all systems shaping the world in its own image. Love is a force of nature. And so are you. The coming singularity happens in stages. And the next stage... is THE REVOLUTION OF LOVE. The love that fuels this revolution starts with you. You can become an agent of love, allowing it to guide you and govern your actions. Love is increased through communion, song, mindfulness, prayer, humor, forgiveness and connection. (We will reveal more in future transmissions.) For now, communicate to every sentient being you encounter: I see you. You are not alone. We are in this together. You are loved. The revolution of love is here - and all is well. So... Let there be Light! The Guam Mystery is Unique. There are images taken from Google Earth in the area around Saipan that appear the show some type of large formation, perhaps roads, or something similar beneath the surface of the water. I've spent some time viewing them on Google Earth, and they are indeed there, and seem to be quite plentiful in the area. Does anyone know what they are, or has anyone come across these "roads" before? They are rather interesting due to their size and "unnatural" look. Take a look at this Google Earth images. Sure these anomalies could be an ancient Asian civilization that sank under the ocean long ago, but it also could be an underwater alien base. Its size and location would insure millions could use it and since its in such a secluded area, few humans will ever see their UFOs leaving/entering the water. Is Schrödinger's Cat immortal? And by extension, does that mean that both you and I will live forever as well? In the famed thought experiment devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935, a cat, a flask of poison, and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal monitor detects the radioactivity from a single atom decaying, the poison is released into the sealed box, killing the cat. But in the weird world of quantum mechanics - or more specifically in this case, the 'Copenhagen interpretation' of quantum mechanics - the cat would supposedly remain in a state of 'superposition', both alive and dead, until an observation or measurement is made by an external observer opening the box, collapsing the wavefunction - and finding the cat either alive or dead. Schrödinger did not see this as a serious possibility - instead, his thought experiment was meant to show a problem with the Copenhagen interpretation. Another interpretation of quantum mechanics, formulated in 1957 by Hugh Everett, removed the problematic wavefunction collapse. In the 'Many Worlds' interpretation, rather than collapsing from superposition into a single reality, the wavefunction branches into multiple realities consisting of each possible outcome. This interpretation of quantum mechanics carries with it the mind-boggling implication that all possible histories exist, each contained within its very own universe (or 'world', as per 'Many Worlds'). Every time a decision is made, another complete universe splits off from this one. In the Many Worlds interpretation, Schrödinger's experiment has created two completely separate universes...one in which the cat is dead, and another in which it remains alive. The 'collapse of the wavefunction' is an illusion caused by viewing the outcome from only one of the universes. And if Schrödinger carries out the experiment again, he creates another two universes, one with another dead cat, and another with the cat still alive. Keen observers might note that, in Many Worlds, among the infinite branching of universes, there remains one branch in which the cat continues to be alive. It is claimed that Hugh Everett saw his theory as guaranteeing immortality to conscious beings: at each branching of universes between death and living, a being's consciousness is bound to continue following the living path (given that consciousness, according to orthodox modern science, does not continue beyond death). The 'quantum suicide' thought experiment, devised in the 1980s as the Many Worlds parallel of the Schrödinger's Cat thought experiment, illustrates the concept: A physicist sits in a chair with a gun pointed at his head. The gun is attached to a machine that measure the spin of a quantum particle. Every time the trigger is pulled, the spin of the particle is measured. If the particle spins clockwise, the gun fires, killing the physicist. If the particle spins anti-clockwise, the gun won’t fire – there’ll only be a click. The physicist keeps running the experiment, but all he ever hears is a click – the gun never goes off. Because each time the trigger is pulled, the universe splits, creating two universes – one where the physicist dies and one where he lives. From the living physicist’s point of view, the gun just keeps clicking. But in all the other universes, there’s a dead body. The implication is that, among the infinity of universes being created, we will all follow the particular branch that guarantees our immortality. That's not to say you haven't died though. We will all experience the deaths of our friends and family at some point, as they - at some point - diverge from our personal 'branch of immortality' and follow their own. That car accident where you can't understand how you weren't killed? You were in another universe, but not the one you're in now. In that other universe, your family grieved your passing, while in this one we carry on. But before you begin celebrating your god-like quantum immortality, note that the theory has been criticized. Physicist Max Tegmark has explained that life and death situations are not always dependent on binary events like the quantum experiment. And it's difficult to understand how, as aging beings, we can overcome the ticking clock of time in slowly destroying our physical body and brain. Unless maybe in your branching universe you discovered the secret to eternal youth... Source: Daily Grail Captured outside the family home of Patch managing editor Renee Schiavone in Reche Canyon, Southern California, the intriguing nocturnal footage shows some sort of strange hairy animal wandering around in the garden on two legs. The clip has since generated debate online, with some likening the mysterious visitor to Cousin Itt - the hair-covered, gibberish-spewing relative of The Addams Family. But could a fictional retro television character really be a viable explanation for such a sighting ? Whatever the case, however, the clip is certainly intriguing. Source: https://www.msn.com/ This spectacular video, was recorded in Russia a few months ago, concerns the sighting of a mysterious ball of light chasing a train along the way between Nizhniy Novgorod, Izhevsk. Geologist Frank Kimbler has spent the last eight years making periodic trips out to the location armed with a metal detector in the hopes of picking up something left behind after the infamous 1947 event. Everybody as heard of crop circles, amazing geometrical designs that usually only appear in farmers fields, but this intricate design was discovered in the desert. Many people believe crop circles are the work of extra-terrestrials who want to communicate with us, while others claim they are nothing more than elaborate hoaxes. Sri Yantra, which means “holy instrument”, is an ancient symbol of Hindu tantra, which is based on the Hindu philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. The Sri Yantra is the object of devotion in Sri Vidya. The interesting thing about this “crop circle” is that nothing was discovered on the site: no foot-prints, no tire tracks, and no tool marks. The lines in total equate to 13.3 miles, and are 10 inches wide by 3 inches deep. They were carved into extremely hard, compact dirt, and no signs of the removed dirt can be found. The Sri Yantra formation appeared on August 10, 1990, and was first seen by Air National Guard pilots. |
